To Never Have Had the Chance at a Beautiful Life
You watch the world. You listen to the news. You see it, but you can't really understand it. It is very frustrating. You get angry and you feel powerless.
You see actions, taken by another human being. A human being that shares the same world as you, breathes the same air. Their actions are inexplicable and have horrendous consequences on many human beings, who were just taking part in this life, who didn't know when they woke up that day, how life was going to take this unexpected turn of event.
Life is supposed to be so beautiful. Life is supposed to be us, in the happily ever after.
We are all striving for this happiness. I don't think any body, who has ever been loved and shown that they belong in this world could take any of those actions.
It's hard. To make sense of all of it. We are trying to understand but we are left with very little to do so. Things are happening far away, not to us really. However, it creates chaos in our mind. It creates chaos in our beliefs.
The belief that we are supposed to be a worldly community. The belief that we are there for one another, there to support each other.
In a sense, what is happening very far away, is also happening very close to us. Definitely not to the same level of terror, but perhaps at the level of human to human connection.
I do believe, that individuals that are taking those unthinkable actions against another human being, have lost their ways and have never had the opportunity to be loved, to understand compassion towards another human being, to understand that we can all be part of this great world. To understand that there is no need for separation between genre, ethinicty, religion or beliefs. They never had the chance to know that. It is very sad, to know that someone would never have had the chance to know that this world is capable of great beauty.
It doesn't explain the decision of their leaders and groups who are guiding them into this awful path.
I look around me, and it makes me think for a moment. Near us, some individuals and members of our community, are left alone. Left alone with no place to go and no assistance from our government.
We often look at those individuals with judgement and disdain. We walk by them without thinking twice about it, like they are part of the scenery, and not really realizing that we are very fortunate to have access to all the necessity in life and more.
I stop sometime, and I look at their soul. Their soul that have been hurt, forgotten and pushed aside. I imagine their stories, I imagine what they could have gone through, and it brakes my heart.
It brakes my heart, that from close or afar, souls are lost. So lost that they would take those unthinkable actions. There's probably not much that I can do about most of those souls, but perhaps what I see happening afar is a wake up call. A wake up call to pay closer attention to those in needs around me. A call to action for me to get involved in my community, and have a positive impact on people, even if it's just one soul at a time. By being kind and compassionate.
